On Friday, a Montreal priest was stabbed during morning mass at Saint Joseph's Oratory.
How should this be handled? What do you think should be done?
What can we do to prevent attacks of this nature? Explain.
I think that no one should be stabbed well first it is really rude to stab someone in a calm place and second why did they get stabbed. Well first I think that you should talk to the person that wants to stab you and ask why they want to do that to you. I think that if the priest did something bad then he should talk it out with the person and tell the person to get over it and that is what should have been done. Well I think ignoring the person will want them to do something bad to you even more so if you talk it out there will be a better chance that they will be more nicer to you. Also you would need a reasoning and to be very kind.
I agree with you in a way, but I don't agree with having to talk with the person that wants to stab you. There is multiple reasons why, but the major reasons are because you probably won't know if they want to stab you, and second of all, they could pull off a knife at you when you're trying to talk to them. I agree that you should make things better with them, but the best way is my mailing or anything that's virtual. Or even better is to stay out of it.
One way to solve problems like this is that I think before entering the church there should be someone or something that checks people before entering the mass.kind of like in the airport, where there’s machines that check if u have any metal,etc. Although it it did happen once in like 5 or 10 years, but it is very disrespectful and rude. Yes it will be a lot to handle but it is for our safety

in my opinion this person should be in jailfor he's life because maybe he didn't end up killing the priest but im pretty sure that was he's intention to prevent attacks like these maybe there should be someone at the front that checks everyones bags before they can go inside. so everyone can be safe
This person should be arrested and thrown in jail for a long time. But I know that on the news some priests were sexually abusing people but this person (the criminal) should be thrown in prison for a very long time because that was an innocent holy person. Good thing that this priest survived and I am happy that he did. But I would like to know why the criminal did it and what was his or her's motivation and if anybody else he or she knows that want to do the same. I don't we could do much about because a church is a holy place and if the police have to be there to protect the priests and other people that would be a new low for humans. But I really think there isn't much we can do about it.
Mackenzie First things first, why a priest? A priest is a holy person who dedicates there life to helping others. What kind of deranged person could do that to someone so nice and holy. The person responsible should be sent to prison for as long as necessary which in my opinion is the rest of his life. I hope the priest is alright and god do him well.

I think that this should be handled like any other case. The person who committed this crime should be sent to jail and punished. Its not right that things like this happen. A good way to prevent this would be to have security guards. Just two standing in back of the church. I'm glad that the priest survived. Its pretty scary to think that another human is capable of doing something so horrible.
I think they should put the guy who stabbed the priest in jail, for a while too. Like Mackenzie said, the priest is dedicating his whole to helping others. He didn't do anything to deserve it. I think security guards should be placed in the corners of the church. They should also have a security guard following each priest, just to be sure.

Whoever did this should be punished severely. I am saying that this monster should be put in a maximum security prison for life. I think that to prevent horrific attacks like this in the future, we should make harsher punishments for crimes, and put trained armed security guards everywhere.
