Some people believe that THE POLICE take advantage of their status.
They feel that THE POLICE are aggressive towards others because they are THE POLICE!
Should THE POLICE have to wear BODY CAMERAS on their uniform while on duty.
Well they kind of take advantage because they can do what they want like stop people but sometimes they have an advantage to put them in jail or not. Yes they are the police but it doesn't mean that you have to be aggressive towards others. If you are aggressive as a police officer other people will influence on them and probably be mean and aggressive to others. I think they should have to wear bod cameras so the other police officer can tell them what to do. Also they can see you're every move so they wont be aggressive to the people that did something wrong. It would be good so if they lie about something they can just look on the camera and see if they were mean or did the wrong thing.
I do not think that police should be wearing body cameras. Onereason is that some people can take it the wrong way, maybe they will think it’s fake police officers who just want to stalk you, and some people don’t like having their faces shown to others/on internet. Overall that, it is for others safety. I think it would be a good idea to have it because it could come in handy.
I think that the police should have body camera on them. The police should respect the lays and do their job correctly. They should not have to ware body camera to prove that they don’t take advantage of their status of police by being aggressive. The police could also use that camera against the person that is being arrested because if they do something rude to the police it can be proved.
I'm on both sides. There are advantages and disadvantages. Some people may not feel comfortable being on camera without permission, they could be fake police officers (like Julia said) and could have their faces put on the internet without their permission. But hen again, lets say a police officer gets robbed, the camera will pick up the thief's identity and they can find him or her and will be able to arrest him or her. Also if a police officer had to report his day, he can't lie because all the evidence is there.
I think is a great idea because if a policeman did something wrong to the person then the person sues the policeman if the policeman lied to the judge they just see the video footage. And see whos telling the truth. Its a really good idea to put on camera on the police so they see the real story.
i think it's a good idea because no cop can do a false report on the person, can't lie to someone about it and it can show respect to the public because no cop can harass you
I think its stupid because honestly i find cops dumb. They always think they have so much power over you and its condescending. I think its a total invasion of privacy to be filming anyone they want whenever they want. What i dislike the most is that obviously they're going to have more power thank you thats their job but i think they abuse it too much.
I think police should wear cameras because then they can’t deny what they did. If they were being rude to an innocent person, if they had the camera on then they would see that and they can’t deny it. Also because if they arrest somebody that did nothing or if they give someone a ticket for no reason then they would see that if they had a camera on them.
Well i am both side, If i am the police and wear the cameras that would be human rights violation i mean privacy problem. But for the advantage of their status we really need body cameras. Because It make unfair situation somtimes.
Mackenzie I do not think police our taking advantage of their status because one my uncle and father are policemen but also because they have sworn to a ought to protect and care for us citizens. But I do think that they should have to wear body cameras well on duty. For example my father was attacked and was hit in the head by a baseball bat if he was wearing a camera he would know who did it. Also it proves to society that policemen are nice and good at their jobs.
I think the police have to wear a body camera is a good and bad idea. If there is something happened the camera could video everything that had happened. Wich, they can take it as evidence, then the people won't lie about it. The bad things that I think are, there are some peple don't like to be on camera because that feels like the police know everything they did.

Cops aren't supposed to wear body cams, they are supposed to be trusted when they speak, and if you don't trust an officer and you're the manager, there's clearly a problem and you're supposed to work it out. If they are not trustworthy, or new as a police officer, they can have a body camera for a few months to a year and that's maximum. If after a year you don't trust them, you have to do something about it and clearly something is bothering you.
I believe they 100% should have body cameras because I think That some police take advantage of there power. I think that a few police are racist towards colored people too. The body cameras would help catch the bad cops and not blame all the good cops.

This way we could watch and see if any police are abusing their power and we could punish them. One bad part of the body cameras is that it sends a bad message. If we are watching the people who are supposed to protect us, it sends a message to the public that they are not to be trusted.

Of course I feel like they should have the right to do what they need to but sometimes they use their power to much, and get carried away. I don’t really know to much about this stuff, but I feel like the cameras are a pretty good idea.
I don't know a lot about body cameras and what they do, but there are a lot of stories of police officers abusing their powers, they don't respect the law they do whatever they want and get away with it. But if there were body camaras they wouldn't get away with it. Also at the same time it's kind of a wast of money to get those few cops who don't respect the law. In my opinion they shouldn't have to use body cams.
