The holiday season should be festive and special!

Whether we celebrate Chanukah, Christmas or Kwanzaa, the holidays are about FAMILY!

How do you spend your holidays?
What special FAMILY moments do you share together?

There are many people that are probably not as fortunate as you during this time of year.

How can we help make this holiday season festive and special?

Explain.

I celebrate new year. At 11:30 we start eating and getting ready for 12:00 AM to celebrate the new year. We normally stay up till 1-2 in the morning or some cases we never slept. We could help people that are less fortunate by giving away stuff that are useless to us or food and give it to the school. During that day of the holiday, we could collect all of the stuff that the school collected and give it out to the people that are less fortunate.

  3. First I just want to say READ MY BLOG there is a beautiful message I want you all to read. AND I WANT YOU TO BE IN A PERSON SHOES WHO DOES NOT HAVE STUFF THAT YOU DO. Me I celebrate hanukkah and it is awesome we light candles for eight days get two times the presents. The main thing I like about hanukkah is that you can spend eight days with your family eat together and have an amazing time. Yes I celebrate christmas too. For christmas we usually do it at my house and it is really fun and the best thing we do to have fun is secret santa. It's not because of the presents it's because we get to open them and steal them if we want and watch the people get something else. This game is for the joy of christmas and also for the laughter we share and the times we spend together on this special day. That is what we do christmas eve. Christmas day we eat with the family and then we give and get something back. The meaning of christmas is to have fun while you're enjoying it with your family. New years we do it at one of the nabours house and we eat all together then we play and talk. When the countdown comes to three minutes everyone comes to the tv to wait and talk. Then we get our decorations, then we countdown 10, 9, 8,....3, 2, 1 and say happy new years then we hug everyone and tell each other happy new year. Now this is what I do to help. Every year we give one of our gifts away for the people in need. Two years ago I went to a charity and we raised money for the poor and lots of food and happily it worked. I want to do the same this year to give. I am really thankful for all the food we have, the roof I have on my head now and many others. I feel really bad for the people in need. I am so grateful and everyone here is grateful even if your family has a small house who cares at least you have a roof. Many people are bragging or saying I have to share a room with my sibling well who cares you have everything a poor person doeint. I'm not just saying this to one of you I'm saying this to all of you. So on christmas day if you get something you don't like instead of saying I hate it it’s so stupid, say thank you.

  6. On Christmas Eve, the whole family comes over, my aunts uncles and cousins, and we eat dinner, spend time with each other and at the end everybody opens up their gifts. On Christmas day we spend time as a family at a restaurant for brunch. One way to help make Christmas successful ( for the unfortunate ) is by doing a food drive! But you don’t necessarily have to do a “ food drive” you can do a toy drive, or even better, the essentials: soap, brushes, tooth brushes, tooth paste, hats, etc

  7. On Christmas eve my whole family usually goes to my grandparents house to talk about how our year has been going, because it is pretty rare to get the WHOLE family together. but its really fun when we are. Then we sleep over there. Then on Christmas morning we go to church early and we come back to open our presents over my hot chocolate. Later in the evening we have friends come over for a feast. My grandma and mom are really good cooks on their own, but when they come together its basically a slice of heaven. When the party is over meaning around 3:30 am December 26 we sleep over once again then we go to boxing day shopping and then we say our good byes, but we'll end up seeing each other for new years. Also to help people have a good holiday season for the less fortunate, we should donate food, clothing, toys etc...

  9. We don’t have any traditions but my favorite part of christmas is when we get to see my cousins. They live in Toronto so we never really get to see them, some of them are always working or there in college so some of them I really don’t get to see. It’s always so much fun with my cousins, we always sing the songs from the musical Alexander Hamilton, our favorite songs are Aaron Burr sir, Heplesse,The Schuyler sisters, You’ll be back and (of course) Alexander Hamilton. I try not to think of those people because it always makes me sad but I can’t not think of them. I always want to think of them, my parents always remind me of how we have so much privileges, how we have warm houses how we get to go to school. For heaven's sake there are girls my age who are being forced into marrying a guy as old as 30! There only purpose in life is to get married and have kids. And it’s like that only because they want to make sure that there society will never give out, that there will always be be someone to live in there country. Do we really want our next generations to have to go through terrible things like that! So I don’t know why there are people who have to be mad at school. Why do boys always talk in class and why do they sometimes act stupid! Would you like to walk 60 miles just to get water! And to be worked at like a slave. And girls! Why do you always talk about boy and gossip like who is she dating now! Your purpose in life is not to talk about those things. Do you think people fought in wars so that you could do that or have a free life as free people, and to go to school. Girls just to have to stay at home to take care of the kids they couldn't go to school! That’s all they wanted to have. To be free live their lives as they wanted so they could go to school! Show men that Women should be ecale to them. Well do you think that you're taking this privilege right You should be working, should be having fun! 9 nYes I know that not all girls are like that). Even if you don’t understand school and are not good at it , that doesnt matter and some people are throwing away her shot! And some people i know are very smart but thought that away for a life of talking about things she wouldn’t even think of.

  11. As a Family we don’t do many things for the holidays due to us not being religious we don’t celebrate Chanukah or Kwanzaa but we do celebrate Christmas but not because were Catholic or Christian, it's because we love each other. Personally I think that we don’t need to go anywhere special or do anything special, it just matters if you’re with your friends and family, also it's not what you get it’s what you give. So I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate.

  12. I celebrate Christmas with my family, usually I wake up and open some gifts than me and my family eat a cake to represent the birthday of Jesus because I’m orthodox, Christian. Than usually that night me and my other family meet and have a big dinner at around 6:00, Christmas time is supposed to be a fun time for you and you’re family so make it one by being nice.

  13. On Christmas, I go to my uncle’s and aunts for dinner. I spend time with my whole family. We eat until we are stuffed. We then open our presents. It is really fun! We then have dessert. After that I play video games with my cousins. I also celebrate new year. We stay up until midnight, and we then wish everyone happy new year. We also call my uncle and aunt and my grandma to wish them happy new year also. We can make this holiday special and festive by, giving homeless people gloves, hat , scarves and etc. Last year in my elementary school , we had a WE club. In this club we would make hats, scarves, neck warmers and etc. When made a lot, we went downtown and gave out our hats and scarves and neck warmers, and everything else that we had made. It was really fun making all this stuff! We would hand these out to some homeless people. We also had a food drive at my elementary school. We also had a month where we would give in new socks at school. With the socks they donated them for a good cause.

  15. For my Christmas holidays we usually spend it with my dads family because most of my moms family has passed away sadly, and our tradition is on the 24 we open one gift which is always pajamas but their different each year so that on the 25 we wake up with them and then Christmas morning we open all our other presents. I think this year to make this holiday fun and festive we could all hang up Christmas decorations like wreaths lights Christmas trees etc.

  16. I celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. The family of my dad and my mom come and we open the gift on the 24. I know we open them on the 24 and not the 25. A way to make holidays special for everyone is to give to the people that are unfortunate food. A good way to do that is by putting food in the basket at school.

  17. During the holidays, I like to spend most of my time playing video games, watching youtube, watching TV, and if I ever hear about any open gym basketball, I will go and play. On christmas eve, we go to the house of my grandparents on my dad’s side, and on christmas day, we unbox our presents, relax, and then a few hours later, we go to the house of my grandparents on my mom’s side. I think that to make this holiday season special for everyone, we should donate food, drinks, money, and blankets to the poor, so that they can be warm, well fed,and even have some more money in their pockets when they go to sleep on christmas.

  18. My family kicks off the holidays with food! On the last day of school, we usually order or eat out. Then, its time to work. The family always has Christmas at my house, which ends up with us doing all the cooking. When the family comes over, i'm in charge of distracting my cousins. They are both extremely hyper and are both handfuls. I usually spend my whole night taking care of them. Then, it's gift time! We all sit in the living room around our tree. We all open up our gifts and eat cake. Then I go back to my cousins. New years is exactly the same. Our Christmas is intense, but its lots of fun.
